On this journey, you will encounter Mongolia’s rare wildlife, including the saiga antelope, Pallas’s cat, and snow leopard, while experiencing the traditional lifestyle of Kazakh eagle hunters. You will travel into one of Mongolia’s largest and most remote mountain regions, where dramatic landscapes and true expedition conditions create an authentic adventure.

After breakfast, we will drive to Gandan Monastery, Mongolia’s main Buddhist monastery. Afterward, we will visit the Chinggis Khaan Museum, followed by lunch. In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional cultural performance.

Feb 23 - Fly to Western Mongolia (Khovd or Ulgii province)
Flight to Western Mongolia. Upon arrival, transfer to the camp. Local guides begin tracking snow leopards and Pallas’s cats, and we head into the mountains if sightings are confirmed.

Feb 24 - Snow Leopard & Eagle Hunters
Search for the elusive snow leopard in the Altai Mountains. Meet eagle hunters and enjoy a photography session.

Feb 25 - Pallas’s Cat & Wildlife Photography
Photography session focused on snow leopards, Pallas’s cats, and eagle hunters in their natural environment.

Day 5
Feb 26 - Saiga Antelope Expedition
Search for the unique saiga antelope across the vast steppe landscapes of Western Mongolia.

Day 6
Feb 27 - Wildlife Exploration Reserve Day
Additional day dedicated to tracking snow leopards, Pallas’s cats, saiga antelopes, and eagle hunters if not yet successfully photographed.

Feb 28 - Final Wildlife Tracking & Nomadic Experience
Final chance to track wildlife or visit eagle hunters. In the evening, experience life with a local nomadic family.

Mar 1 - Altai Mountains & Transfer
Morning hike in the Altai Mountains followed by a drive to Ulgii or Khovd town.

Mar 2 - Fly to Ulaanbaatar & Hustai National Park
Flight back to Ulaanbaatar. If time allows, visit Hustai National Park in the afternoon.

Mar 3 - Elsen Tasarkhai & Khogno Khan
Drive to Khogno Khan Nature Reserve. Explore the area, hike in the mountains, and visit the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes.

Mar 4 - Nomadic Culture & Shaman Experience
Meet a local shaman and take part in a cultural photography session with a nomadic family in traditional clothing.

All price are per person per day
The difference between comfortable tour and budget tour relates primarily to the accommodation type. Within a budget tour all accommodation will be with a nomadic family in their Ger. While a comfortable tour includes accommodation at Ger camps which are similar to a 3-4 star hotel standard. Finally the Mid-Range tour mixes Comfortable and Budget, where you will stay some nights in the traditional Ger with a nomadic family and others in a Ger camp.
