We start our trip heading to the North and visit Khuvsgul lake. We will go horse trekking to the Reindeer herders and explore their lifestyle. After that we will go to western Mongolia via Central Mongolia. When we go to western Mongolia. We will see a couple of lakes on the way. Specifically, Ulaagchiin khar lake is a lake with Sand dunes. It’s a very beautiful lake. We will go hiking to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. After that, We will visit the Eagle Hunter family and explore their lifestyle. Then we will fly back to Ulaanbaatar.

Discover a wild Mongolia. On this trip, we will travel to meet reindeer herders in the north and eagle hunters in western Mongolia. Moreover, Mongolia’s wilderness and its untouched beauty are an invaluable experience on their own. Besides exploring the natural beauty and nomadic culture, we can fully customize the experience. We will start our trip by heading north to visit Khuvsgul Lake. We will go horseback trekking to meet the reindeer herders and explore their lifestyle. After that, we will travel to western Mongolia via Central Mongolia. Along the way, we will see a couple of beautiful lakes. In particular, Ulaagchiin Khar Lake is a stunning lake surrounded by sand dunes. We will then go hiking in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. After that, we will visit an eagle hunter family and explore their lifestyle. Finally, we will fly back to Ulaanbaatar.

Day 1 Khutag Undur
We will drive to Khutag-Undur river Bulgan province. This is one of the great places for camping.
Day 2 Khuvsgul Lake
We will drive to Khuvsgul lake. We’ll drive to Lake Khuvsgul which is one of the country's largest and most spectacular protected areas. Lake Khuvsgul's 380 cubic km of water make it the fourteenth largest freshwater lake in the world and second largest in Central Asia by volume, with over 1% of the world's fresh water. At its deepest, the lake dives 262 meters. Ninety-six rivers and streams empty into the lake, but only the Egiin River exits the lake. The Egiin flows southeast until it joins the Selenge River, which flows through one of Mongolia's most densely populated areas on its way to Lake Baikal. The Lake is 1645 meters above sea level and is generally frozen from January until April or May.
Day 3 Tsagaan Nuur (Horse herder family)
We’ll drive to Tsagaannuur. We’ll meet the Horse herder Family and get prepared for the horse trek or (Trekking )to Reindeer people. The reindeer herders of northern Khuvsgul aimag, Mongolia are a small, tenacious group who strive to maintain their way of life and culture in the face of great challenges. They are called Tsaatan, tsachin or Dukha. The Reindeer People are in two main groups, the Western Taiga and the Eastern Taiga. Both are most readily reached from the town of Tsagaan Nuur (generally reached by car) or from Renchinlhumbe (generally reached from Lake Khuvsgul by horse or foot).
Day 4 Reindeer herders family
We will start our trekking to Reindeer people.
Day 5 Reindeer herders Family
We’ll go horseback trekking and visit a reindeer herder family, where we’ll experience their local lifestyle. Their way of life is slightly different from that of Mongolian nomadic people because they herd reindeer.
Day 6 Horse Herder family
We’ll go horseback trekking and then ride back to where our van is waiting.
Day 7 Boshloi Khad
The landscape gradually changes to more mountainous and forested areas. You will enjoy scenic drives through mountain valleys and over mountain passes. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive at Boshloi Khad, a striking rock formation at the junction of the Delger and Belts rivers. We’ll camp among the rocky mountains.
Day 8 Tunamal Nuur
Tunamal Nuur is a lake and is located in Khuvsgul, Mongolia. The estimate terrain elevation above seal level is 1879 metres. We will do camping.
Day 9 Ulaagchyn Khar Lake
We’ll drive to Ulaagchiin Khar Lake, traveling for almost the entire day.
Day 10 Ulaagchiin Khar Nuur
Ulaagchiin Khar Lake is a beautiful lake in the semi-desert area. The northern shore of the lake is lined with impressive sand dunes and its southern reed shore and islands are magnet for migratory waterfowls. The lake is 30 km long, 10 km wide and 48 m deep. Nearby mountains are home to rare wild habitats including snow-leopard.
Day 11 Khyrgas Lake
We’ll drive east toward Khyrgas Lake, passing through a diverse landscape of lakes, wetlands, sand dunes, and high mountains. We’ll arrive at Khyrgas Lake, the second-largest salt lake in Mongolia. The lake is rich in fish and is also a great place for birdwatching.
Day 12 Bayan-Ulgii Province
We’ll drive to Bayan-Ulgii Province. Ulgii is the capital city of the province and is home to Mongolia’s Kazakh people, who are renowned for their traditional eagle-hunting culture.
Day 13 Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
Altai Tavan Bogd National Park follows Mongolia’s western border with China and Russia and is one of the greatest attractions in western Mongolia. The park has it all: beautiful valleys, alpine lakes, rivers, glaciers, and the highest peaks in Mongolia. We’ll start trekking into the Altai Mountains. Today, we will reach the base camp.
Day 14 Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
This is the highlight of the trek. Today, we will reach Malchin Peak, which stands at around 4,050 meters, and then return to the base camp.
Day 15 Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
We’ll trek back from the base camp to the van.
Day 16 Eagle hunter family
Kazakh people are renowned for their traditional eagle-hunting culture. Bayan-Ulgii is located in the far west of Mongolia, where the landscape rises to more than 2,500 meters above sea level in many areas. Today, we will arrive at their home and meet the eagle hunter family.
Day 17 Eagle hunter family
We will experience the authentic lifestyle of a nomadic family and enjoy their warm hospitality. The eagle hunters will demonstrate how they train their golden eagles and introduce us to the traditional art of eagle hunting. You will also have the opportunity to talk with the hunters about how they train and hunt with their eagles and learn more about this unique Kazakh tradition.
Day 18 Bayan Ulgii
It’s almost the end of our journey. Today, we will return to Bayan-Ulgii Province in preparation for tomorrow’s flight.
Day 19 Fly to Ulaanbaatar.
We will fly back to Ulaanbaatar.

The difference between comfortable tour and budget tour relates primarily to the accommodation type. Within a budget tour all accommodation will be with a nomadic family in their Ger. While a comfortable tour includes accommodation at Ger camps which are similar to a 3-4 star hotel standard. Finally the Mid-Range tour mixes Comfortable and Budget, where you will stay some nights in the traditional Ger with a nomadic family and others in a Ger camp.
