Activities

Day 1 Kharkhorin & Erdenezuu Monastery
We will drive to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia and the legendary city founded by Chinggis Khaan in 1220 in the Orkhon Valley, at the crossroads of the Silk Road. From here, the Mongol Empire was governed until Kublai Khan moved the capital to Beijing. Kharkhorin served as the capital for nearly 40 years. Following the relocation of the capital and the subsequent decline of the Mongol Empire, Karakorum was abandoned. Much of what remained was later used in the construction of the magnificent Erdene Zuu Monastery in the 16th century. Nearby, you can visit ancient Turkic monuments and rock inscriptions erected during the 8th and 9th centuries in memory of outstanding warriors who fought for their people's independence.
Day 2 Orkhon Waterfall & Orkhon Valley
We’ll drive to Orkhon Waterfall, The Orkhon valley in the history of central Asia. The grassland is still grazed by Mongolian nomadic pastoralists. Orkhon waterfall is one of the biggest waterfalls in Mongolia. This is a great place for taking photos, go hiking through the gorge. We’ll arrange a couple of hours horseback riding in the area.
Day 3 Horse Riding and Hiking in the Orkhon Valley
We’ll go horseback riding for a couple of hours and we can hiking there. This is nice place for hiking. We’ll stay in the same family ger
Day 4 Elsen Tasarkhai & Khugnu Khan mountain
We will drive to Khogno Khan Mountain and enjoy a couple of hours of camel riding. Later, we will take a walk in Elsen Tasarkhai, the beautiful semi-desert area known as the "Mini Gobi.
Day 5 Khustai National Park & Ulaanbaatar
We will drive to Khustain Nuruu National Park, located about two hours west of Ulaanbaatar on the northern bank of the Tuul River. Although situated within Mongolia’s central grasslands, the name *Khustai* means “with birch,” referring to the birch and aspen groves found throughout the area. The park features rolling hills, open steppe, and diverse wildlife. Khustain Nuruu was established in 1993 as a protected area for the reintroduction of the Przewalski’s horse (*Equus przewalskii*), the world's last truly wild horse. Today, the park is managed by the Khustai National Park Trust and is one of Mongolia’s most successful conservation projects, supported largely by tourism.

The difference between comfortable tour and budget tour relates primarily to the accommodation type. Within a budget tour all accommodation will be with a nomadic family in their Ger. While a comfortable tour includes accommodation at Ger camps which are similar to a 3-4 star hotel standard. Finally the Mid-Range tour mixes Comfortable and Budget, where you will stay some nights in the traditional Ger with a nomadic family and others in a Ger camp.
